How do I go about collecting rent? Should it be paid into OpenRent account then sent to the landlord or directly to the landlord?

Its up to the Landlord how they want you to pay and will be specified in the contract. If you arent sure ask them
If they use OR to create contract then the holding deposit and balance of 1st month gets paid through an openrent account - 10 days after move date to protect tenants so LL has to hand over keys to get the rent.
If the LL pays for OR rent collection service then it continues to be paid to OR account but if not LL will tell you in contract how to pay.

Its up to the landlord, but I always asked my tenants to pay me directly and there was never an issue. Before asking for this, I would always supply proof of ownership and my home address.
