Hi,
I am a LL and now I have been getting enquiries from Agencies, Care Providers, The neighbourhood heros. They all request my telephone number.
I do not give my number away and always say that any questions should be address via the portal of Open Rent.
Personally, I would not go this route as this will be creating a middle man.
If I get another Care Provider, I think I am going to request their company number or charity number, list of directors, the last 3 years of accounts signed and filed with HMRC and see if they shy away. Just a thought !!!
Just interested if anyone other LL has experienced this ?
No one on these forums ever recommends rent to rent.
BTW, all you need is company/charity name and you can find all that information online via Companies House or the Charity Commission. Don’t need to ask them.
You could add a note to your description stating something like ‘No agencies, Care Provider Enquiries accepted’ and then simply decline the enquiry if and when they come in.
I think the volume of this type of enquiry depends on the location and type of property but it is a pain and they seem very persistent.
Martin, that’s exactly my thinking. They are targeting any locations or properties and their marketing tool is to make you feel guilty…check this out :
“We kindly ask that you consider helping a family in need, and rest assured that we will be by your side to ensure a smooth tenancy experience”
Thank you for your comments.
