How do i make sure that the complex/flats that I am moving into accepts pets? The Landlord has confirmed that pets are allowed, however, I would like to be sure that the rules of the complex allow it. We are paying a large portion of our rent upfront so we wouldnt be able to simply move if we find out that pets arent allowed at a later stage.
Find out who are the Managing Agents and ask. Typically there will be covenants in leasehold properties and these covenants are managed by the Freeholder/Managing Agents on behalf of all the leaseholders.
So the first hurdle, the landlord/leaseholder has been cleared but you need to clear it with the MA. Surprisingly few leaseholders pay attention to their leasehold responsibilities to other leaseholders - until it bites them.
