Hi, I was hoping someone could be able to help me with information regarding my deposit I have given the landlord a £250 holding deposit i then asked him if I could get it back and was told I could not have my deposit back because I have withdrawn my application which I did not.

ask OR customer service [message button at bottom of Openrent FAQs page] or @mod_harry may be able to help. If you have withdrawn your application then LL is correct, you lose the holding deposit under the law.
But if it was paid via OR and you havent withdrawn the application [we cant really know without all the details and just from your side of the story], OR should be able to help you as they do hang on to it [and it then contributes towards 1st month’s rent if application goes forward].

If you believe that your holding deposit has been unreasonably withheld, you should report this via the property listing page or contact our customer service team as outlined in @David240’s comment above.
