Got our house up for rent on OpenRent, had 19 enquiries so far and have had a number of viewings already, with 3 more booked for this week (and one more that we are waiting to hear from).
Had a lovely family come round to view who the house would really suit. We got a great feeling about them, the kids were well mannered, etc, but just a little concerned that the rent might be a bit of a stretch for them (though they do exceed the 32 x rent).
Had another family in a slightly better financial position but their bank statements they’ve sent through only show their receipts into their bank and not their outgoings/balance. I understand that people are often reluctant to share personal information but I like to see things like rent payments being made, and to check they’re not a gambling addict, etc.
The other viewings this week appear from the screening to be in much better financial standing (one is selling their home and moving for work, and has offered 6 months rent upfront), but we do really like this first couple I mentioned.
Am I being naive and should I let my business head rule?
