I’m confused! I’m moving my lovely tenant from a high street lettings agent to OpenRent. We’ve got as far as the referencing being completed. Her deposit, currently held by the lettings agent, will be transferred to me, but I’m not seeing an option for me to then place it in the OpenRent deposit scheme. I don’t want her to have to pay up front and then I transfer the existing deposit to her. I know there’s a way, I’m sure I read how to do it, but now I can’t find it! Could anyone advise, please?
At the point where tenant is given the OR payment details they can pass those to you I think, with any tenant/payment reference that’s needed.
“When paying the final balance, you can pay either by UK debit card or else by bank transfer. We will send you the full details after contracts have been signed by everyone**. If the Council or another third party are contributing to these costs, you will be given payment details which you can pass onto them**.”

I’ve sent you an email offering some support here. Essentially, once the contract has been signed you will need to pay the deposit to OpenRent so we can protect it for you.
