Failed Referencing query

I would like some advice on failed referencing . I have a family interested in my property, the wife passed the credit check and affordability for her share of the rent. Her husband failed affordability: he worked from May to Dec 2024 and earned enough to pass the referencing with his wife. The income was verified however the Maximum rental affordability was indicated as “£0” and the reason for lack of verification was “referee refused to verify details”. also later in the report there is a comment stating: “as we understand that the income source will not be ongoing, it has not been taken into account for affordability purposes”. The husband is starting employment again in March 2025 however this cannot be taken into account in the affordability report and the employer comments were " referee refused to verify details" My questions are: can future income be taken into account for affordability? I will recommend that the husband speaks to the employer - does Open Rent then automatically update the information or do we have to re-submit another check?
The other option is that the wife updates her referencing adding additional income which was not submitted the first time round, how can this be done and does it require another complete check or can the information just be updated ?
