I had been waiting from 4 months now and my landlord has been telling me old tenant doesn’t move from property after my tenancy agreement.
It’s been a shame that I had been waiting that long. I had been contacting my landlord about it, he is telling me once the old tenant leave I will inform you.
It’s on going from 4 months.
Any advice please.
Landlords should not do this. They are taking a big risk by agreeing a new tenancy when the old tenant is still living there. Have they served notice on the tenant? Are they going to court to evict him?
If youve signed a tenancy agreement, your landlord is in breach of contract and has to cover any reasonable costs you incurred in finding alternative accommodation. This could include moving costs and any extra you have had to pay for temporary accommodation over and above what you’d have paid him in rent.
I would suggest you find somewhere else and ask to be released from the contract.
