Higher deposit instead of guarantor

Hello

I wanted to ask if I could avoid having a guarantor by offer new landlord higher deposit (3-5 months)?

I’m a single parent, claiming UC but with excellent credit score and full time job that pays well but not quite enough.

I haven’t got a guarantor.

Is this possible here on OpenRent?

Landlords can only take 5 times the weekly rent as a deposit as a matter of law

There are companies that can be your guarantor. Search online for it.

Providing a higher deposit was a facility that used to be available to you, but the government decided that Landlords cant take more than 5 weeks, so the unintended consequences of that decision is that those without a Guarantor now struggle to get a tenancy.
