Our landlord, due to his remortgage needs to increase our rent each month by £300. We’ve been his tenants for 9.5 years and love our home. With his permission we’ve installed a new kitchen and bathroom. We’ve also redecorated, with permission, in tasteful colours that any new tenant could easily adapt to. Basically we’ve enhanced and respected our home.
But now we need to move on, but living in Somerset we are finding it hard to locate affordable and suitable properties. I’m a disabled mature student and my husband is also disabled. We have a pet spaniel.
Unfortunately due my redundancy in 2021 we had to get a DRO for our debts as our income changed to benefits from my salary, but we have never been in rent arrears as we have always put paying the landlord as number one priority.
We are hoping to find a new landlord who can understand our set of circumstances and understand how life can throw curve balls at all of us sometimes.
We could pay upto £800 pcm and need a 2 bed property but preferably not in a town centre as we enjoy walking our dog in the countryside.
