Hello, I have registered onto OpenRent. When will I receive a draft rent contract? Thank you.
I think you need to explain what you are asking further. Start by telling us whether you are a Landlord or tenant, and where you are in your property advertisement / search process.
Hi, thank you for your message. I am a new landlord and I have just uploaded my vacant property onto OpenRent. I’m still trying to work on how to use this site. I would like to know when will I receive a tenancy contract to look at, so that I may edit etc if needed.
you can advertise without using the OR contract. So you may never see it. If you are using the OR ‘rent now’ service you will get a draft contract after you have accepted a holding deposit, done referencing [if you want] and accepted an offer from a potential tenant. It will automatically populate with the rent as set out in your advert etc. But you can see the draft by googling ‘openrent ast template’
Bear in mind that many of the clauses like the break clause and references to fixed periods like 12 month wont apply from 1 may onwards due to the Renters Rights Act which will make those clauses null and void and unenforceable. OR have yet to issue a new template
You cant edit the OR tenancy agreement but you can add ‘custom clauses’ at the end.
good luck
best
Thank you this information is very helpful.
