I have viewed a property today. However, the person who showed me the apartment is from private letting contractor (Aiden Homes). She also asked me to pay the deposit directly and agreement with her company as she doesnt work through openrent. This is confusing if you could help how to proceed. I have paid the deposit by clicking upon the ‘Rent Now’ option. I can go privately with them but is there any way to check if they are legit people and scammers?
If they have asked for direct payment then you shouldn’t have paid through rent now.
It’s perfectly normal to pay direct.
Need to do your homework to see if legit…
