Hi! I’m trying to rent a property and I had a period of time where my rent was late (I got laid off and was caring for someone) but my accounts are clear now). Will this alone stop me from passing the referencing?
Also my guarantor does not want to do any open banking etc. He comes from a finance background and is cynical of third parties - which I respect.
Is he able to opt out and do it manually? I would appreciate help with any of this!
Dont worry you can’t change the past.. good news is you already have explanation and even already have a guarantor to help reassure LL and they were interested enough in your application to do the next step up referencing.
Tenant or Guarantor can opt out of open banking. They can do this when they are invited to enter their referencing information by openrent. It just means the process takes a bit longer.
