# Referencing tenant currently based overseas

A prospective tenant spent lockdown in Italy and now wants to return to the UK and rent my flat. She is an employee of a UK based company, but she will also need to have a guarantor- her mother who is an Italian national living in Italy. Is it possible to reference her as a Guarantee. If not, are there any suggested alternatives?
