Hello, forum, and sorry for asking what has been covered before. I just can’t find this thread for some reason.
A person who works as a supervisor for a clothing company with a salary not nearly enough to cover the rent + bills said that the expenses will be covered by the company.
Never came across this before. Is it worth considering? Any pitfalls?
I’m not sure why a presumably low paid worker is having his living costs paid for by the company, or how robust the arrangement is, how long his contract lasts etc. I also recommend you dont accept any payments directly from the company or have them named anywhere on the contract.

That’s what I thought. Thanks, David ))
He might lose his job next month…company guarantee to cover payment no good

Hmm well if a company wants to rent a place for their employees esp ones they move around it’s probably cheaper for them than a hotel and is a ‘rent to rent’ type agreement. These dont give you any of the control of an ast whilst renting co can easily disregard maintenance and repairs or do a poor job. Avoid unless you deliberately want to hand over control of your property (often for lower rent but the temptation of no void periods).
You could ask tenant whether declaring the value of the rent as benefits in kind to hmrc who will charge income tax and NI on it. If not doing that it’s very likely illegal and a good reason to avoid.
Good luck
