Right move asking me for my landlord details and proof of ownership

Hi

Yesterday I have paid for my advert to be added to Right Move £70 I’m not a landlord however I am a tenant looking for housemate to share my current house with.

After my money has been paid I have received an email with documents submitting request which clearly need my landlord documents and ID. They are away till next week. I would like to know if I can wait till next Monday not loosing my money. Any practical advice are welcome :hugs:

@Edith

Ask whomever you paid the £70 to (I suspect Openrent not Rightmove as RM don’t deal direct with LLs).

Try OR customer service

Good luck

Why are you advertising and paying this rather than your landlord? If you have personally rented the whole property on the understanding that you can get in other housemates, then you would absolutely be their landlord, although they would have licences not tenancies if it’s a full house-share. You would have some legal responsibilities as their landlord such as giving them a copy of any current gas certificate, so if I suggest you learn these quickly. You would also need to show Rightmove written consent from you landlord to take in lodgers.

That’s a fair point @David122, to be honest. If the landlord’s written consent is needed, best to get that sorted before going any further with the advert. I’d also contact Rightmove and explain that the landlord is away until Monday, just to make sure the £70 and application stay valid until then.
