# Right to rent, advise

Hi I have a perspective tenant and his wife. I have asked for details of right to reside and find his visa expires in August next year. He says he’ll reapply for visa then.  
I’ve rang Dir gov and they say that I can rent to him till Aug next year.  
But by that time he’s already in my property and may not apply for the visa, do I offer a short term tenancy or move down to my next application

The tenants I have that required a R2R, have never had a problem renewing. If you are happy with them, sign up a 6m contract which will roll onto periodic.
