# Tenant from Overseas

Hi there,

I’m new to Openrent and have a tenant interested in my property that is from overseas.

Because there from overseas, how will there references work?

Once they supply the holding deposit which they will put through the Openrent system, if they want to provide 6 months rent as they dont have any uk references, is this allowed and how do they pay the 6 months rent?

Will the tenancy agreement state 6 months rent recieved through RentNow?

You can create a tenancy via Openrent RentNow allowing for 6m in advance. This is easy as part of the set up process. They will pay all rent in advance less the holding deposit to OR, which can be done via bank transfer.

However, if you’re using RentNow via openrent, they will also be required to pay the holding deposit to OR. This MUST be paid with a card with a UK address. No alternative payment options.

I would not waste your money on referencing prospective tenants from overseas. You need to rely on your own enquiries.
