What does pressing "Proceed with this application now" do?

Hello,

We have received a tenancy application with holding deposit. Do we need to press the green “Proceed with this application now” button in order to accept the deposit?

Also - do we do the tenants and guarantor referencing prior to hitting the button?

Please explain

Thank you
Anton

P.S. I remember seeing on OpenRent somewhere that if deposited is not accepted within 72 hours - it will be automatically return to tenant.

In short - yes you press to accept the holding deposit. This is assuming you want to proceed with this tenant - you don’t have to if you don’t want to, this is entirely up to you. Openrent will simply return the holding deposit to tenants if you don’t wish to proceed with them or you take more than 72 hours to decide. If you proceed, it will then ask you if you want to reference. If you select YES then it takes you to the referencing options. If you select no, then it takes you to the contract page. If you are not familiar with contracts, I strongly recommend checking / joining NRLA. Hope that helps.
