this question that is asked for tenants is it gross or net pay?
Most landlords will ask for three and half gross pay. This is not a good indicator of a tenants ability to pay .There will be deductions by the employer for income tax , national insurance , pensions etc. Then a prospective renter may have a car on finance, has to pay council tax , gas , electric, transport costs, .No doubt you can think of more. Some prudent questions will determine if all will be ok
