Deposit not placed into scheme from years ago

Hi all

Back when I was a student I rented a room out. This was in 2017. I have discovered looking back at previous emails and documents that I don’t think the deposit ever went in to a neutral place. Of course as a 18 yo at the time I was very naive about this. So please go easy on me.

For context I found this room on spare room

Do I have any rights to complain about this considering it was so long ago now?

You’ve got 6 years from when it should have been protected so, no… but you now know for future tenancies.
