What are your thoughts on ground rent for leases prior to reform act 2022? Do you believe they will be abolished eventually. I have a lease which is reviewed every 10 years and raises in line with RPI. It was reviewed in 2024 and increased by 50%. I am currently in process of selling but landlord will not issue a deed of variation which if my buyers mortgage lender refuses to accept makes my flat unsellable
Any changes to legislation are rarely retrospective. So I dont know whether it would help your situation.
