He may insist you get lost
That isnât correct, the landlord doesnât get paid for two weeks.
This prevents a popular scam where someone rents out a house they donât own, and the prospective tenant loses their months rent and any deposit theyâve paid.
Yes been changed since (addressed further down thread)
I was recently offered three months rent in advance by a prospective tenant who, quite frankly, nobody would ever touch for many reasons.
A simple moment to reject and then move on.
Disagree a tenant would have more consumer protection from a large organisation like Opent Rent than some rogue Landlord
what a load of codswollop Openrent are an advertising organisation . Notice you never replied to my direct question further up the page
Iâve never used rent now and never will. Tenants are asked to send holding deposit to my account they then receive paperwork confirming its receipt and reason and terms. Contracts are sent out unsigned a week before as a view only copy for them to read and raise any concerns with. Deposit and first months rent is due 10am moving day and they are met at the property at 12 with contracts, inventory, house file which contains deposit paperwork, gas safety etc.
If a tenant wasnât willing to put their trust in me when Iâm handing over my property and insists I use rent now they will find their application rejected and the property offered to the next in line.
One âconcernâ may be your holding deposit being paid direct as you may not know if they are genuine. Is this correct?
If you have done your homework properly then this will be apparent.
As mentioned the AST from openrent can be modified in any way before you see it. Openrent have zero liability for whatâs in it and they certainly arnt accountable. This is no different to a reputable AST from organisations such as the NRLA.
If you pay rent and security deposit via BACS or cash on the day you move in then you are covered further.
For many landlords OR rent now is a bottleneck.
