I have come to the end of my tenancy and am unable to pay the last rent, I asked for it to be taken from the deposit. but he refused what can I do?
Why are you not able to pay it? How would you normally pay it?
I think more details are required
1 is the contract coming to an agreed end has noticed been served if so by whom you or landlord
2 why are you unable tobpay the rent?
3 when and how did you let the landlord know that you were unable to pay
4 has a final inspection been done is there likely to need to be any deductions from deposit i.e cleaning or redecorating or damage repair
The end of tenancy is 28th February there are no major damages to the property, other than wear and tear.
because there is an overlap in where I am moving to and moving out of (by a month and a half) there has been a lot of outgoings I did not anticipate.
I am still able to do the end of tenancy claim
Ahh, I understand now. I thought you were unable to pay for some technical reason.
You can only speak to your Landlord, but ultimately, if you cannot afford to pay, you may have no option but to let the rent go into arrears, and then if the LL does not deduct it from your deposit (ie if he has damages etc to deduct), then you’ll need to make arrangements for repayment.
