Letting agent repaints room with tenant in

Hi there.
Is it legal for letting agent to repaint room with professional tenant in? (without giving him replacement room)

did he not want it re painting?

Letting agent has informed me that repainting will be carried out without any questions or without giving any alternatives so I’m wondering is this legal? I don’t mind but this will be disrupting my life.

If I were a tenant and the place needed painting I would be putting myself out to help. Many tenants complain the landlord does not decorate enough… Count your blessings. You have no bombs dropped on you, now that is disruption and illegal . Painting is not illegal and both sides should cooperate

Buddy I’m not complaining just wondering if this is legal to force repainting like that. Clearly in my case one side doesn’t care what I think about it.

have a look at your contract . There may be a clause about decorating.

No, the agent or landlord cant impose non-essential work in the property against the tenants wishes.

Decoration should be done in void periods, part of a landlord’s overheads, not when someone is living there. Unless you agree to compensate them.

I’ll have a look at my contract once again. Thank you

Even if the contract allows it, which I would doubt, the tenant could still refuse. Maybe instruct the agent to persuade or wait.
