Hello,
I am a legal clerk from Germany and I will stay in London for 6 weeks beginning 1st July to work with a global law firm regarding my legal clerkship during a business trip. I was wondering if it is even possible for me to rent through OpenRent because of my short term being there and the fact that I am a foreigner.
What prerequisites do I have to meet and how do I have to proceed if it is actually possible?
You may find someone - but most landlords here are offering property for more permanent stays under secure shorthold tenancies usually for a minimum of 6 months.
If someone does agree to a shorter tenancy, expect them to adjust advertise price to a higher rent at rates more typical of short time stays…
You may be better looking at Long term airb&b offerings - some hosts offer stays over a month
A conventional letting arrangement would be highly unlikely for only 6 weeks, though not impossible. Not having a UK credit history is not so much of an issue but the short length of your stay would be. As Mark suggested, you would be better off using Airbnb or short-let serviced apartment like Citadines etc. at a higher rate. I do have an Airbnb in London so feel free to msg me directly for further details.
