Did you write to them to find out
I’ve looked on our councils website and there’s nothing since the last introduction
Do they update it on the website or did you proactively call them ?
I did nothing at all since filing the application in March. They just got in touch. In fact, to clarify, it’s just a proposal. I have two weeks to review it and “make any representations” prior to it being granted. Not sure what “representations” I might make. All seems as described to me.
Did they send you an application ?
How did you discover it was introduced
Our LA tried to apply to to 75% of the city several years ago and the n r l a fought and won our case, I’ve heard nothing since. We had a landlord accreditation scheme which was shut down because of lack of funding. That was how I was notified the first time.
I’m just worried that with the new regulations they will , or may have, try it on again. Should I be proactive or should I wait for correspondence?
I wondered and searched the web and discovered it by accident. It’s only a certain part of the town and because I’ve known that area for 30 years, the only surprise to me was that they took so long to get licensing in place. The area needs it IMO. Too many dodgy landlords and it’s one reason why we have properties there so that we can provide secure good quality housing in a tough area.
If you search for your council and licensing you should find out if it’s been introduced. If it has, just write a humble email stating that you’ve discovered by accident that it’s been introduced and wish to comply. Worked for me even though I’d missed the deadline by about 6 months.
Thanks
I’ve looked on the webpage ; the areas are the original areas before they lost campaign for them to add additional streets .
I’ll just keep an eye out
Just had my application for a license approved. This was filed in March and only today have they approved it and asked for me to pay the fee. So, it can take some time and payment might be the very last thing you do. £85 per annum, so not horrific, and although completely unnecessary in my case, if they actually do use the money to improve the PRS in that area then I’m not reluctant to pay it.
