Hello folks. I have just been told that most mortgage lenders will not lend these days on single skin properties. I bought the house 10 years ago and it has an extension which is single skin. I accepted an offer but the Barclays refused the mortgage. Just wondering if there are any options other than going to auction? Thanks
There are specialist lenders for these types of properties. I doubt all main stream lenders would refuse to lend on single skin properties, there are so many of them! Has the buyer shopped around or used a broker? - a broker is invaluable for this type of scenario.
