@Helen2023 think more generally market is very slow at moment so may be a contributing factor but not only one. Did you get feedback from agent saying lots say they would have offered but for the unfortunate circumstances?
Best

Thanks @David240 .
I think you are right in pointing out slow market at the moment unlike summer season the market is more active.
The good news is the letting agent has been super professional and doing a good job trying to help.
Just getting another better offer through although I am having to accept a lower rental price as compared to what could have been charged without the recent trauma.
The letting agent pointed out such information disclosure is not required after next tenancy, only recent is required.
There is no time limit on this sort of thing, but I’d say that the further away from the event it is, the less likely a judge would be to side with a tenant in a claim. After 5 years I’d stop telling people, but this has to be an individual judgement call.
I would let potential tenants know, but also emphasise that you had very happy tenants living there for years before (i.e. the place is not jinxed) Best to not provide too many details though (e.g overdosing).
On the market being slow, I’m finding it extremely slow too (in South West London and Surrey - my both properties are empty). Previously both places would fly off the market in days. Does the rental market get better in summer usually, or is this because of the forthcoming RR ?
Its makes absolutely no difference to re letting.
If he were murdered maybe but i wouldnt fret it.
Had a few die on me, you are lucky the parents were co operative, a death in a rental can be a nightmare
