Also forgetting, we also have to bear all the charges! Tenants are more inclined to move at the end of the term, causing yet more work for the leaseholders (Time cost)
No, we haven’t been able to pass on.
even with with all the extra charges I still lead a good life as a landlord, I live in the countryside, i have a stunning garden, ,many are far worse off than me , but i do hear a lot of complaints from landlords , maybe you are overeaching yourselves with mortgages and that makes you nervous
I agree. One of my tenants has been 5 years but never had an increase but I have upgraded it all the time. I never change the rent while a good tenant is in the property. A tenant has just left one to buy their own so increased by £30 a month. Still good value for money.
That’s shallow I think. Some things are more important than money.
If Labour gets in all tenants had better look out. Who wants to be the governments scapegoat and become social services to all and sundry. Labour will cripple the renting housing market along with their
co-horts Shelter.
Thank you , and for example , you always include ware and tare? And the insurance ? And the works you do ? As a landlord ?
the conservatives crippled it years ago when they allowed local councils to sell off cheaply their housing stock
that makes a lot of sense, we could have easily leveraged and bought a lot more but when you have enough properties to give you income the rest can be just more hassle.
regarding taxation the problem is hmrc keep moving the goalposts. as soon as the govt see someone getting ahead they swoop in and say where’s my taste! to answer the gentlemens question above, yes, we are selling had 48 rental units now down to 12 and actually a lot happier as we kept properties in the best areas where statistically you get better tenants. enough is enough. problem is where to invest the proceeds
And properties need comprehensive landlords insurance!
