Adding a guarantor after contract starts

Hello, our tenants are due to move in tomorrow. One failed the credit check (strangely with the same score as one who passed). He has a guarantor however their check will only come through tomorrow on the day they wanted to start the contract.

Do you know if I accept their application whether the contract will still be updated with the guarantor once that approval has come through?

Hi

A guarantor should be added before signing contract and allowing them to move in. Otherwise they will have a contract and no need to add a guarantor after moving in. You can add a guarantor who doesn’t pass checks so you could add him now but it is normally best to wait
