Can we amend name in the existing contract from open rent?
If yes, what is the process?

Why? Was it mis-spelled? Have they changed their name?

The contract was with three of us and now one person wants to move and the other will replace him.

You cant change a person on a live tenancy by just changing the name. There are 2 options.

  1. Draft a deed of assignment between the existing group and the new group and everbody, (including the witness) signs at the moment of transfer. Separate arrangements would need to be made tegarding the deposit and a mistake there could be costly.

  2. End the current tenancy with a deed of surrender and start a whole new tenancy with the new group with all new documents and re-protection of the deposit.

A checkout inspection is advised with both options.
