Court hearing small claims

Hello everyone. I’m taking a former landlord to small claims court. What for? I moved out two months before the end of my tenancy. The landlord took advantage of this to lease the room to a new tenant, and then refused to issue me a refund (I had paid twelve months rent in advance). We have a court hearing scheduled for the end of this week. I live in England. I was wondering if any of you have been down this road before, and if so, if you could share your hearing experience. I want my expectations for the hearing to be as realistic as possible.

Make sure you supply the court with
a) the date the the new tenant moved in
b) the date you moved out
b) a copy of your tenancy agreement
c) evidence of your initial payment to the landlord
d) any other relevant documentation
If the landlord supplies “evidence” to contest you claim and you have provided none then the landlord may win. Documentation usually wins over verbal allegations So make sure you have supplied it all. .

As long as you take the evidence with you, you should win and the landlord will have to pay all the court costs too.
