Default Screening after 30 Enquiries

OpenRent’s decision to impose Default Screening after receiving 30 enquires is a disaster for Landlord as the number of enquiries suddenly dry up.

The beauty about OpenRent has always been to let the Landlord be in control of who he decides to invite for viewings even if prospective tenants don’t fully meet your criteria. Imposing default screening is harmful and similar to what high street estate agents used to do… restrictive and controlling.

OpenRent should make this optional and not force it on Landlords

This is an annoyance for me also. This should be left to the landlord to decide, however I suspect the reason is to slow down applicants to allow landlords time to reply to all applicants. OR needs to keep tenants feeling positive about their interactions with the website, also when landlords don’t reply the tenant starts complaining to OR.
