Economy 7 changes and EPC compliance

Anyone know how to replace/upgrade Economy 7 storage heaters and keep ECP C rating to comply with the new landlord regulations? The latest storage heaters look good for now, but as Economy 7 is being phased out, it does not seem clear if they will continue to make the C rating. (solar, pumps etc not possible). Anyone have any knowledge or experience?

Switch to gas CH. Much lower running costs and like Economy 7 you will have two lots of standing charges. More affordable living costs will probably increase the energy rating by one. My rating goes from D to C for this reason.

Not possible sadly as in a block with no gas feed in vicinity.

There will be different time of use tariffs which will work with storage heaters. Given increase in wind power generation there should still be relatively cheap off peak power.

The only way at present for you to keep a decent EPC rating would be to replace the storage heaters with new LOT20 type storage heaters. Theyre expensive, so I’d check first whether the existing heaters are still servicable.

thanks. That confirms what I thought

Dessicant dehumidifiers do their work by generating heat or warmth. You replace the filters or clean them. They are said to demand a higher running cost but still much cheaper than a fire.

Unless the existing heaters are VERY old I suspect replacing them would be an expensive mistake

They are beyond redemption
