Emergency acommodation and landlord harassment

Tenancy ends on 31st july, am in ni, no properties available, private or housing executive, not even temp. We might have to go into emergency acommodation. We are packing our stuff now. Landlord is demanding keys on 31st july despite us telling him we will prob have to put our stuff in housing executive storage and cant guarantee be ready by 31st. He is saying agent will call today friday for house inspection but we know this is just to harass us for time to give him keys on 31st. He told us this in text. Will tell him am busy so dont send agent today, dont want to listen to his harassment. Do i ignore agent if he calls today or other day before i have my stuff out of house and house cleaned? Am happy for inspection then. But am not handing over keys if my stuff still in house. Do i report landlord for harassment?

@Frank1 . Have you consulted Shelter NI for advice? I know this has been suggested to you before, but you continue to maintain that you have to leave the property on 31st July. Has the legal advice you have received, told you this?

Yeah rang shelter, they just say cant be evicted without court order. Problem now is landlord desperate for keys on 31st july despite us explaining our situation they dont care. Can i report them if they continue to harass?

Yes, you can. I suggest you let the landlord know politely but firmly that you are unable to make yourself homeless and will be remaining at the property for the time being whilst continuing to look for an alternative.

I did that. His reply was that he would change the locks on 1st august.

Then you should definitely report him to the Council and the Police. Illegal eviction is a criminal as well as a civil offence.
