Increase rent without setting a new minimum contract length

Hi there, the fixed contract term is now up and the current contract now allows for a rolling normal notice period from either party.

I don’t want to renew the fixed term - would like to keep the existing rolling notice period - but increase the rent for this year.

How do I go about this without having to do a full renewal, reinstatement of min 6 months AST?

Many thanks

Paul

Either agree an increase informally or use a s13 notice.

Hi @Paul66

Thanks for your question. You can propose a rent increase during a periodic tenancy. We’ve got a guide to the different ways of proposing a rent increase here: https://help.openrent.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/4676677857553-How-To-Propose-a-Rent-Increase

If you use our Rent Collection service you’ll also be able to update the tenancy information to reflect the new rental amount.
