Hello,
Would this be the correct and up to date contract for the latest version of an assured shorthold tenancy?

Hi @Rebekah1,

Thanks for your question.

For now landlords in Wales need to continue to use the existing Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) contract when issuing new contracts or renewing existing tenancies.

The new type of contract, known as a SECURE OCCUPATION CONTRACT, won’t be legally binding until the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 comes into effect on 1st December.

Once the new legislation comes into effect we will contact all landlords with existing tenancies in Wales and support them in ensuring that they remain fully compliant with the new legislation.
