I’ve just re read this whole thread. It’s an extremely confused situation as to whether the initial notice was accepted and so maybe not valid (as was pointed out earlier in the thread ) . Seems to be a mess unfortunately.

An invalid tenants notice can only be accepted if all parties agree. This means that the one who remains is not bound by it and the one who has left is still a tenant and liable for the rent.
