No filter for smoking allowed?

Would be very useful. I don’t understand why you would filter the other options like dhss welcome and not smoking

Hey ho

Hi @Miles8,

We’ll have a look into getting this added.

@mod_harry

Can I suggest that this question is rephrased. As a landlord, I have no problem with renting my property to a smoker, but I would not want them smoking in the house.

The statement ‘Smokers Allowed’ is unclear which of these options is meant.

Yep, that makes sense.

There’s also a big difference in terms of wear and tear to a property between smoking cigarettes and vaping. Might be helpful to clarify whether you’d allow someone to vape in your property (I’m sure many would) but not smoke tobacco (which is far less popular among landlords).

@mod_harry

Why not also look at adding filters for other things to avoid timewasting

-willing to supply information for reference checks (covering credit history, affordability/employment history, past rent payments, criminality, prev landlords, prev addresses)

-willing to undergo right to rent checks

-Will not sublet

-will keep clean and tidy

-is aware of responsibility to carry out maintenance and behave in a tenant like way

??

Why? What would be the point of any of those @David240 ?

Filters are there to help people find a their ideal home.

@Karl11

If they aren’t willing to undergo referencing checks better to rule themselves out straight away otherwise they are wasting their time and that of those LLs who want to use such checks.

If they plan to sublet a filter will help them know the LL isn’t willing to accept that

If they have no idea what behaving in a tenant like way means a filter will get some of them to Google it

If they are expecting a cleaning service instead of cleaning the property themselves it will help rule themselves out

All in exactly the same way some LLs don’t want to rent their properties to smokers so a filter has been suggested for that

Hope that explains
