I have tenancy ending 24Mar, do I need to provide anything in writing that it won’t be renewed?
You have to give written notice. You can do it by post or hand deliver it to be sure that it is received. Email is not usually recommended unless the tenant has agreed to it by providing their email address on the tenancy agreement. If so after sending it you will need to ask them to confirm they have received it. You should research how to do it properly to make it official.
When the fixed term ends, it will just become periodic on the same terms, so the tenancy will continue.
well technically, if it was an AST, it will become a statutory periodic tenancy unless stated otherwise in the AST. @J114 when you say “it won’t be renewed” what do you think you mean? What does your AST actually say happens on the 24th of March?
