Hi, I have a very old Tenancy that ended several years ago. I never realised it was still live on OpenRent and now the last tenant has been emailed. I’ve tried to kill it off in the system but can’t - Can someone explain how to do this please. The tenant left happily and deposit returned. House sold etc.
Go to OR front page. Choose ‘manage -active tenancies [choose the tenancy address] scroll down and choose - end tenancy’ option
If this isn’t working contact OR support (scroll to bottom of OR front page and click on ''Support ’

Yes while sort of kind of Openrent to be proactive its all a bit of a mess now isn’t it.
I think one house has just emailed four previous tenants with the renters rights bumf… Must hope they just ignore and move on.
The thing with the (newish?) end tenancy button is in typical openrent fashion it is very vague about what it does when pressed? Will it just mark the tenancy as archived. Or will it spam tenants who left six years ago with a bunch of advice and upselling services on moving house?
Anyone Know?
Thanks
I can see tenants asking for a deposit back when the deposit was never with OR!!
