Probably shouldn't have selected rentnow

Hi

I’ve messed up the open rent process. After selecting a tenant found through open rent, I wanted to have open rent also do the referencing. I’ve done this multiple times before, but seem to have messed it up this time and I’ve incorrectly ordered rentnow. The tenant has paid the deposit through open rent and the referencing has gone through fine, but I don’t want to use open rent’s tenancy agreement - I use the NRLA one. I’m meeting the tenant to sign that agreement on Wednesday, then she will pay the deposit and first month’s rent to me.

How do I get the holding deposit transferred to me from open rent?

Reject the application on openrent they will return it to tenant then get tenant to pay it to you instead

There’s likely no way to ‘transfer’ it

We have reached out in an email to assist you here. If you don’t want to go ahead with Rent Now at the moment, you can simply cancel the Rent Now process via the “Cancel Options” on the referencing page and explain the situation to the tenants. There is no charge for us taking the holding deposit and any prepaid credits you have on your account won’t be used up.
