Hello. I am looking to rent and requested a viewing of a property. I received a response that reads something like “I am the landlord of the property but I have given it to an agency to manage for me. Please contact them on this number ….”
Is this usual? This is my first time using OpenRent and I am new in the Uk. Is there a chance this is a scam?
Agents can not advertise directly themselves via Openrent, so this appears a way for them to use the service, but still have an agency manage it.
Nothing wrong with it as such, but most properties advertised via the platform, would be self managed by the Landlord.
I have seen an agency from Bromley workibg in the benefit of a misyerious landlord on OPENRENT. The name of agency was something with a tree on their add.
