Have issued tenancy contract to new tenants via Rent Now. Tenancy commencement date is 1st September 2018.
If they digitally sign it now do they have to pay deposit and first months rent straight away? Will they be chased to make these payments. I am quite happy for these payments to be made a few days before the commencement of the tenancy. What is normal practice and what do OpenRent / other Landlords recommend or advise?

When using Rent Now tenant’s will be asked to pay the first month’s rent and deposit upon signing the contract. However, if you would like to arrange a different payment date directly with your tenants please feel free to do so.
The tenant’s will receive a reminder email about the payment until it is fully paid but as long as all parties agree with the different date there is no problem with this at all.
