References for Irish residents

Our daughter has lived (as a student) in the UK for 2 years and has found a lovely flat with friends for her third year. We have passed the initial reference phase as guarantors but in the more comprehensive form it will not allow us to proceed as we are not UK resident. How do we overcome this? We have the means to guarantee her.

You might be required to pay all the rent for the year up front. If this is something that is a possibility for you, consider it. However, before paying any money, make sure you are 100% satisfied that the person offering the property for rent is legally able to do so (owner or verified agent) and that you have read and fully understood the terms of the tenancy agreement.

Thanks, yes we are making arrangements to do that. And yes, will have that put into the contract if that’s what the landlord wants. We are fortunate enough to be in that position, makes you wonder how anyone with limited means can do this.
