Rent increase by backdate?

Hello,
if agent/landlord forgets to ask for rent increase for 10 months, do I liable to pay back when I am demanded.

No, a rent increase can’t be backdated unless you want it to be.

Hello, David122, I would like to tell one more, and I dont know if this is the critical term:
the AST states, first two years are fixed term but the 13th month will increase rent (RPI)
without further notice !
However, either agent/landlord does not notify me to increase until the 22th months ,agent
finds the mistake and insists me to backdate to pay such increase (RPI) from 13th to 24th
months.

Can you post the exact wording of the full clause.

FYI, this is a two years fixed term, without break clause !
Rent increased with RPI- Notwithstanding clause 5 of The Main Terms of the Tenancy (the Rent) detailed above it is further agreed between the Parties that the Rent payable for the first year of the Tenancy shall be increased from 30/06/2023 without further notice by the amount of the Retail Price Index (RPI) as published two months prior to that date subject to a minimum of 3% and a maximum of 5% AND FURTHER that the Rent shall be further increased from 30/06/2024 without further notice by the amount of the RPI as published two months prior to that date subject to a minimum of 3% and a maximum of 5%

Ok, well I think that’s different. The rent increase isn’t backdated, it occurred on 30/6/2023 and you just paid less and built up arrears. From what I can see and assuming the clause is enforceable, you owe unpaid rent in the amount of the increase for the whole period.
