Tigrit is a 26 year old Eritrean who was granted Refugee status this year. She is looking for a quiet furnished room near the Eritrean church at Manor House.where she worships and has a support community. An all-female household would be preferable. Tigrit speaks Amharic as her first language but is very keen to improve her English. She is currently on Universal Credit and rent could be paid directly to her landlord.
The Refugee Council is supporting Tigrit in the process of integrating into life in the UK, including in this search for a new home as quickly as possible.
no idea where that is
Next station to Finsbury Park
Unless the landlord or a LL’ relative lives there, it’s illegal to restrict rental availability based on a protected characteristic such as religion, and I think it would be unwise and potentially illegal to encourage such discrimination given it is a crime - why is the individual 's religion relevant?
See Shelter Legal England - Rental discrimination - Shelter England

Not entirely sure what the relevance of your message is David. Maggie is simply describing the person and why she wants to live in that particular area. Support communities are absolutely essential for helping refugees integrate into UK life.
No one has suggested that anyone should “restrict rental availability based on a protected characteristic”
I’m pointing out that anybody renting only to Christians could rightly be accused of discrimination- and anyway why is that relevant when proposing a potential tenant? How does it help.a LL decide which tenant to choose by knowing their religion exactly? It has nothing to do with their affordability etc
If she mentioned the person was retired that would be equally irrelevant (tho not rental discrimination legally)
