I have been served a section 21 notice from my landlord.
Landlord’s address is different from the address I have in the contract. Can I make this notice invalid?
I haven been notified any change in the adresses
search online for a section 21 notice checker… that will give you a comprehensive idea of everything that needs to be done for it to be valid
My feeling is that this would not necessarily invalidate a s21 notice, but there may well be case law that Im not aware of. It may also depend on the judge on the day. I think you could probably gain extra time from this error depending on how you deal with it, but if the landlord is adamant that theyre taking it forward, then I think it would be risky for you to rely on it being invalid. Maybe phone Shelter for a more definitive answer.
Thanks David.
To be honest I am more than happy to leave the property. I am waiting for repairs for mor than 10 months. I just wanted to confirm that he is not able to do nothing properly.
Thanks Tatemono. Yes it could be a reason to invalidate the notice. Time and money. A don’t have the first one. I prefer to pay more and have a proper landlord.
Thats very sensible.
