Tenant is in Prison

Hi everyone, I found out a couple of days ago that my tenant has got 3 years. Only through word of mouth. I contacted the son who said his Dad had told him to clear it out. The son is not on the tenancy I have asked to meet him to do an inspection (it will need a ton of work and I wanted to get that lined up) I am being refused saying they don’t want anyone in there… I need to get a surrender signed but currently don’t know what prison he is in. Can the son refuse me access? What would you do pl…
